MAX and Pacifica

October 3rd, 2007

I mentioned a few months ago that I join the Adobe Voice team. Since joining i have been working on a cool project, now codenamed Pacifica. Yesterday was a great at MAX. All the hard work paid off and the Pacifica team was able to show the new project in both the 2nd day keynote and the sneak peaks. Overall the presentations went well. But there seems to be some confusion what Pacifica is all about.

You can get some info on the blogs and news links below:

Some key points what the Pacifica Service initial release is:

    High Quality Voice
    Text and Presence
End to End (or Point to Point)

Its important to point out that the developer owns the whole experience. Adobe doesn’t keep any user data or user list information of the developers applications. Its not just about making voice calls and buddy list any more. The developer can create new and interesting experiences out side the phone concept.

Like what was mentioned at MAX, the Pacifica team is starting a private beta this month, go fill out the survey.
