Opera Mobile 8.6 support Flash? which Flash Player and PocketPC

On July 4th Opera release a press item about their new Opera Mobile 8.6 browser for Windows Mobile 5.0 will be the recommended browser for a new device, called Sharp W-ZERO3[es].

There is a bit of information that sparked my attention:

“Opera Mobile 8.6 for PPC is also the first Opera Mobile version to support Flash.”

Now I have a Treo 700w and am quite interested in developments of the Flash Player for Pocket PCs and in particular Windows Mobile 5. So I went ahead and downloaded Opera Mobile 8.6 and tried to see some Flash.

Well the bad news is that I couldn’t get it to work. Here are to quick test files, one is publish to Flash Player 3 and the other to Flash Player 7. The page should show a 240×240 flash file with a simple red box going from the left top corner to the bottom right corner.

These would not work in the Opera Mobile 8.6 but they did work on my Treo 700w Windows Mobile 5 Internet Explorer browser with Flash Player 7 for PocketPC installed. I tested the Flash Player 7 for PocketPC a month ago or so. I was able to get FLV to show fine, but had trouble with Flex applications mostly because of the shortage of RAM on the Treo 700w.

Then one of my co-workers bought a new T-Mobile SDA Music Windows Mobile phone. It has Windows Mobile 5 (smartphone edition) on it. I had him try and install the Flash Player 7 for PocketPC and it did not work. I guess the Windows Mobile 5 smartphone edition OS’s are quite different then the full blown Windows Mobile 5 version.

Then I went looking at Flash Lite content and found the company RefreshMedia they mention that the SDA has Flash Lite 1.1 or is compatible with it.

Ok so I am back on the Opera part, do they really have flash in the Opera Mobile 8.6 brower? Any one seen it work and what version it is running?

在我已经有Pocket PC Flash Player 7 安装的Treo 700w Windows Mobile 5 Internet Explorer 浏览器这些试验有成功, 但是Opera Mobile 8.6却没有效果。大概一个月前试验了Pocket PC 的FLash Player 7。用FLV没问题, 但是因为我Treo 700w 的RAM不多,Flex应用有问题。我的工友最近买了一个T-Mobile SDA Music Windows手机。这手机已经安装了Windows Mobile 5 (smartphone版本)。他安装了Pocket PC的Flash Player 7,但是也没有用。我想Windows Mobile 5 Smart Phone的操作系统跟Windows Mobile 5的操作系统差得多。我发现一个公司叫Refresh Media。他们说到SDA有Flash Lite 1.1或与Flash Lite 1.1 适宜的。回到Opera。Opera Mobile 8.6 浏览器真有Flash?观众有没有看到的?用哪个版本?
