2 Flex releases this year Moxie and Borneo

I mentioned Moxie a few posts ago…read about it here. I found out at 360Flex about another code name for then 2nd plan iteration of Flex this year. Yeah I said this year. Lets hope that the plan stays on target.

Borneo – what does it stand for? Well its the code name for the next FDS. It will focus on Scalability and Performance, integration with LifeCycle (PDF and document workflow), and they are rewriting WebService from the ground up (to implement the newer SOAP spec and have better performance). Per wikipedia Borneo is the third largest island in the world. Whats the connection?

They certainly know how to pick a GOOD code name. I’m happy for them.

You mean the third largest island in the world. The by far largest one is Greenland.

Just curious, you wrote “and from the ground up rewritten the component.”

By “the component” do you mean all of FDS on the Java server side, or just some element of the FDS Flex components on the client side?

btw … thank you for all of the great posts on the news that Adobe broke at Flex 360.

My blog didn’t like the text I had in the post. They are writing the WebService component from the ground up. To be able to support the newer SOAP standards and get better performance.
